My Oscars do not like flakes. They really like the jumbo cichlid sticks. Also how many oscars do you have in the tank? I have two, and I had to separate them. My tiger wasn't growing very fast and was very timid. Once I put the devider in, my tiger became active, and grew in leaps and bound. To stimulate eating, get a can of freeze dried brine shrimp and krill. It is good for them, and may awaken the aggressive playful side you like.
