About the new categories that now sub-divide the Fish&insects topic, and the difference between 'Feature Writers' and 'Contributing Writers'.

My topic now has sub-divisions. Fish, insects, invertebrates and 'Fish&insects (general)'. I will put articles of more general interest in the 'general' category.

As the 'Feature Writer' here I maintain this blog and the other parts of this topic. Any other writers on Suite101 now have the ability to add suitable articles of their own alongside my own articles (as 'Contributing Writers'). I welcome this - there are certainly enough fish and insects to go round!

In fact I have 'branched out' myself and posted two articles in the 'Mammals' section (The Red Squirrel and Martens in France)one in the 'Birds. section (The Hoopoe), and three in the 'Reptiles&Amphibians' section (French Toads and Frogs, Harmless French Snakes and Venomous French Snakes). While doing the research for these last three articles I came across a fantastic website for the Reptiles and Amphibians of France.

If you have any comments about these (or any of my other) articles then please let me know.
